Thick Framed Gate

Thick Framed Gate

Description

Featured Gate August 2018

This double swing iron gate is a beautiful entryway to a waterfront home. The gate’s geometric patterns complement the home’s aesthetic, most particularly resembling the design of the garage doors.

Special engineering was considered because of the hour glass design of the driveway entrance; that is, the driveway is narrower at the entrance and widens as you enter. The typical 90-degree gate opening was going to be far too narrow, so we designed this system to allow for the gate to open at a 105-degree angle. This way the any vehicle can easily drive through without the risk of hitting the gate, even if it is in its full opening position. Because of the its proximity to the ocean, prior to painting the gate was hot dipped galvanized, giving it added protection against rust caused by all the sea salt in the air.

For new construction projects, it is very important to contact us in the early stages, especially before the driveway is paved. By doing so, we can easily consult and coordinate the trenching and concrete logistics needed for a smooth installation. In the end, clear and early-on communication helps to avoid unnecessary disruption to a beautiful stamped concrete driveway or charming and elegant landscape design. For example, in this project, traffic loops were installed prior to finishing the driveway.

The telephone entry system is mounted to a drive-up pedestal, which also includes a pinhole camera. This camera provides an additional level of security with a one-way, live video feed to the homeowner. The telephone entry system can save up to 50 programmable codes that can be added or deleted at any time, with programming features easily applied at the unit or over the telephone. Guests simply push the call button when they arrive, identify who they are, and the homeowner can open the gate from the phone. This gate system is also equipped with a free exit loop, a convenient, hands-free method to exit the property for owners and their guests. A free exit loop relieves the owner from having to push their transmitter to open the gate. Speaking of convenience, the owners are also equipped with dual button transmitters which allow one button to be programmed for use at the gate and one for use at the garage.
